New Teamboard Sound Amplification System
Yes, it’s finally arrived. The new Teamboard Sound Amplification System.
"Andrey to add picture of new sound system parts and total package"

Question - What is a Sound Amplification System?
Answer - A Sound Amplification System has four basic components: a transmitter-microphone, a receiver, strategically placed speakers, and of course, a great teacher/presenter.

Question – Why use a Sound Amplification System?
Answer – To improve student learning outcomes, teachers need to achieve the required signal to noise ratio.  In short, background noise (noise of air conditioners, keyboards, chairs, chatter etc) competes with the sound of teaching.  This background noise is usually steady everywhere in the room.  The problem is that the sounds of teaching - voices of teachers, voices of students, computer audio, dvd/vhs audio etc - are usually broadcast from one spot.  That is, from the speaking human or from speakers at one end of the room.  This very often means that the required signal-to-noise ratio is achieved for students within 2 metres of where the sounds of teaching are coming from, but not for the students seated further away.
Most teachers feel that they have a loud voice and that all of their students can hear them. Research shows that the majority of teaching is still done from the front of the room. This means that students seated at the front of the room can hear and mostly probably comprehend what the teacher is saying, however the students at the rear of the room can’t. Research also shows improvements of up to 30% in Maths and Literacy scores just by using a sound amplification system in a classroom.

Question – How does it work?
Answer – The teacher wears a microphone/receiver that hangs around their neck. An infra red receiver is installed onto the ceiling of the classroom. When the teacher speaks the audio is transmitted via the infra red receiver through an amplifier and out the speakers, increasing the signal to noise ratio in the classroom.

Question – How will Teamboard/ DSI be marketing the system?
Answer – DSI consider the sound amplification System to be an inexpensive add-on to the existing interactive whiteboard. The existing Teamboard speakers can be utilised and the school is encouraged to purchase two additional speakers which can be placed at the back of the room. A bundle including: board, projector, installation and the sound amplification system will be available within the new year.

Question – How and why have Teamboard invested in a sound amplification system?
Answer – The Teamboard Sound Amplification System is designed to optimize classroom sound quality. But more importantly it will engage young minds, inspire participation, and create a more intimate environment for learning.
